Dr. Gerald Muhammad

Gerald Muhammad, Ph.D.

Dr. Gerald Muhammad currently serves as Assistant Principal at Little Elm High School, where he is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and student development. Prior to this role, he held the position of Assistant Director for Human Resources and Student Services, demonstrating his commitment to both staff and student success across the district.

Since joining the district in 2011, Dr. Muhammad has brought with him a broad and diverse range of experiences in education. His career spans elementary, middle, and high school settings, where he has served in various instructional and leadership capacities. His previous roles include Assistant Principal, Vice Principal, Principal, and Director of Special Education, with professional experiences in Dallas ISD, Eagle Academy in Fort Worth, Irving ISD, and Grand Prairie ISD. His teaching background is equally comprehensive, having taught 3rd through 5th grade, 6th grade Science, U.S. History, and both inclusion and resource classes in special education.

Beyond his work in K–12 education, Dr. Muhammad remains actively engaged in advancing the field of education more broadly. He collaborates on research initiatives, contributes to academic publications, serves as a guest lecturer at the university level, and provides consulting services in educational leadership and practice.

Dr. Muhammad earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Paul Quinn College, a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. His professional certifications include Superintendent, Principal, Special Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Professional Human Capital Leader in Education (pHCLE).
