Dr. Gerald Muhammad
Gerald Muhammad, Ph.D.
Dr. Gerald Muhammad serves as Assistant Principal at Little Elm High School, where he supports instructional leadership, campus operations, student achievement, and school improvement initiatives. Previously, he served as Assistant Director of Human Resources and Student Services for Little Elm ISD, contributing to district efforts related to human capital, employee support, and student services.
Since joining Little Elm ISD in 2011, Dr. Muhammad has served in a variety of instructional and administrative roles across elementary, middle, and high school settings. His professional experience includes service as Assistant Principal, Vice Principal, Principal, and Director of Special Education in Dallas ISD, Eagle Academy of Fort Worth, Irving ISD, and Grand Prairie ISD. Prior to his campus and district leadership roles, he taught students in grades three through five, sixth-grade Science, U.S. History, and special education inclusion and resource classrooms.
In addition to his work in public education, Dr. Muhammad participates in professional activities that contribute to the broader field of educational leadership. He collaborates with colleagues on educational research, contributes to scholarly publications, and serves as a guest lecturer at the university level. His professional interests include educational leadership, organizational improvement, human capital development, instructional systems, and the continued study of effective practices in public education.
Dr. Muhammad earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Paul Quinn College, a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. He holds Texas certifications as Superintendent, Principal, Special Education, and English as a Second Language (ESL) educator, as well as the Professional Human Capital Leader in Education (pHCLE) credential.
