Ms. De La Croix

Ms. De La Croix is excited to return to LEHS for the 2024 - 2025 school year as a Lobo and house principal. This year marks her 13th year in school administration. Most recently, Ms. De La Croix served as an interim principal and magnet director in Austin ISD and completed eight years as an assistant principal in both Dallas ISD and Red Oak ISD. Previously, she worked in Fort Bend ISD as a campus improvement/data specialist and Title I Coordinator, and in Houston ISD as a high school science instructional coordinator. As a teacher, Ms. De La Croix co-piloted the first Pre-AP program at Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy (Dallas ISD), served as a science team lead, and taught Pre-AP 7th and 8th-grade science for five years. During this time, she also worked as a guest lecturer for the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities course at Brookhaven College.

Ms. De La Croix’s educator certifications are in the following areas: Superintendent (grades EC-12), Principal (grades EC-12), Life Science (grades 8-12), Science (grades 4-8), Gifted and Talented Supplemental (grades 4-12), and English as a Second Language (ESL) Supplemental (4-12).

Some of her educational interests include teacher quality, student agency, advanced academics, early colleges, post-secondary access, leadership capacity building, equity issues, gifted and talented studies, school law and policy issues, and the collaborative instructional planning process -all things PLC or professional learning communities.

Before a career in education, Ms. De La Croix was a real estate agent licensed in Texas during her senior year of high school. Shortly afterward, she earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas. She then transitioned from the family business of real estate in 2011 to focus solely on improving student outcomes through education administration. Currently, Ms. De La Croix is completing doctoral studies at Southern Methodist University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
