PSAT
PSAT Day - Thursday, October 9, 2025
Little Elm ISD automatically registers all 10th and 11th grade students to take the PSAT/NMSQT, free of charge, and all 9th graders are automatically registered for the PSAT 8/9. The PSAT allows students to pinpoint their academic strengths and areas for improvement, while also serving as preparation for college entrance exams such as the SAT. Additionally, the PSAT/NMSQT acts as the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program for 11th-grade students, and for the National Recognition Programs for students in both 10th and 11th grade. Students can use the Bluebook app on their school-issued Chromebooks to practice and prepare for the PSAT.
9th, 10th, and 11th Grades:
- The PSAT/NMSQT and the PSAT 8/9 will be given during the regular school day
- Testing will begin at 7:15 am and students who arrive late will not be able to test
- Please avoid scheduling appointments for your student on this day as there will not be a make-up day for the PSAT.
- Students should bring a pencil. Snacks and drinks may only be consumed during the official 10-minute break between sections of the test.
Homeschool Students:
In accordance with TEC Sec. 29.916, Little Elm ISD will administer the PSAT/NMSQT to homeschool students who live within the LEISD attendance boundaries. Please contact Megan Heller (mheller@littleelmisd.net) during August if you need to register your homeschool student.
